Nas aint really got shyt to say nowadays. Compare World Is An Addiction to this....not even in the same league.

The one thing you can say about Nas is he still has shyt to say. Inspiration certainly hasnt been lacking though

I'll say the issue with World's an addiction is more the production of it as a song but I'll take the verses, especially how he blacked out on the third verse.

What goes around probably has a better hook concept and production but Nas kind of turned up the gears on that other song taking what he did on What Goes Around and being more ambitous, like how he was trying to connect all the addicts in the rhymes

See this is a post i can respond to. Everyone else got mad and didnt add to the argument. I'm not saying I'm right..I was just making a post about the GOAT.

he def still has shyt to say..i just felt like it was a little thinned out on Life is Good. doesnt really matter to me overall. he could drop an album of The Don 17x and i'm :blessed:

What made Life is Good appeal to critics though is that it went back to Nas talking about himself personally rather than a range of topics.

The previous 2 albums (HHID and Untitled, especially the 2nd one) he had a lot to say and perhaps that was also a hindrance to it in terms of direction which the production had to be (For the record I thought they were still good albums, but I can see the issues of consistency being valid on these even more than Streets Disciple and Nastradamus).

LIG ,as well as being a post-marriage/single father album, was his 10th album and in many ways it felt like an anniversary album as a lot of production and song direction mirrored a little bit of different eras of Nas transitioned smoothly (Locomotive being Illmatic like, You Wouldnt Understand being Esco -like, World's a Addiction being elder statesman Distant Relative Nas), and I think having a concise list of producers with mostly No ID and Salaam actually helped to give it some consistency in sound.

That's probably also why people say its his best produced album in years with a consistent right sound. That said, something that World's Addiction that would have sat comfortably on any of his previous 3 releases feels out of place here on it, despite really being vintage mid 2000s Nas for better or worse depending on your viewpoint.

Nas was insane in 2001
Nas got so many eras that are definitive. But, The Stillmatic Era was just phenomenal. With his back against the wall, he Hiroshima the game, and regain his spot in the history books, by dropping another Classic:

Sending flowers to funerals, reading rest in peace
You know the usual, death comes in threes
Life is short is what some nikka said
Not if you measure life by how one lives and what he did
