This is his most underrated album now that IWW has gotten more accolades as time passed. I do wish he had stuck with the double disc autobiography concept (my personal redux tracklisting for that is here: http://www.thecoli.com/posts/25863146/) cuz so much heat got left off, but I still fukk with the album hard.

The I Am recording sessions are probably the greatest recording sessions of any album in hip hop history. I consider the retail solo lp a personal classic and have since I heard it back in 99. Then when you think of what was left off the shyt and its like wow.

Wow, takes me back. '99 was the first year I officially started listening to rap music because I got old enough,

and that album was one of the purchases I made that year.

Dope ass album!

And I never understood why Nas has a reputation for picking wack beats.

Just listen to the beats on that album, they were all fire!

If this was trimmed from 65 minutes to like 45-50 it would be my favorite Nas album, the first half is just :banderas:

If you read that review there is no indication that the review was based on the double album. Nowhere does it say that it was a double nor were any of the unreleased songs mentioned. I think this was started by people who had been detractors of the retail version to begin with. But yea this isn't the 4.5 mic review. This just an article honoring the 19 year old anniversary of its release
