shytty ass thread.

Nash won MVP’s off anchoring the 7SOL offense and turning Phoenix from a bottom dweller to a contender.

Kobe’s scoring average jumped from playing on a piss poor supporting cast which led to him increasing his shot volume.

And as always if you bring up handchecking you also have to consider the zone ban was lifted and 90’s players didn’t play under true handchecking.
Casuals vs brehs who know bball.. nice post breh. OP, fukk you doing?

I DONT HATE LEBRON, HE’S A FUCCIN LAKER FFS

IM SIMPLY A REALIST

CALLING HIM A TOP 5 SCORER ALL TIME IS LAUGHABLE

he’s top 5 all time in career ppg average
Top 5 in playoffs ppg average
All time leader in points scored in the playoffs
And he’s on pace to break Kareem’s all time scoring record

What exactly are you laughing at?

While Toronto has only one year where they even won a single game after the 1st round, and that year they were knocked out of the ECF decisively. And this is the "weak" East, right?

The only year that these Raptors won a single game past the first round was 2016. This is too easy. You aren't even worthy of being my opponent.

LONGEVITY AND CIRCUMSTANCE

IF U WATCH HIM PLAY AND THINK HE’S A TOP 5 SCORER BASED ON ACTUAL ABILITY AND NOT JUS NUMBERS, U A DAMN FOOL

KEVIN DURANT IS A FAR SUPERIOR SCORER TO LEBRON. U KNOW THAT, RIGHT?

But you couldn’t double team off the ball back in the day. Illegal defense allowed AI & Jordan iso ball, lol. Hard double team or not at all.

Allowing zone was the biggest game changer. It cut down on iso ball and it forces cross court passes to beat the man/zone hybrid.

This is a half truth, I’m a Cavs fan, I watched Bron and Kyrie iso Ball they way to whatever they want

I’ve yet to see Kd constantly take over games in the playoffs the way Bron has

I’ve watched Bron dismantle defenses consistently since Detroit in 07

You might not like how Bron averages 30 or goes off for 50 but it doesn’t change the fact that he got those buckets

YOU DONT GET IT .. LEBRON SCORES HIS POINTS OFF OPPORTUNITY, NOT SHEER WILL. THE FACT THAT HE IS A PASS-FIRST PLAYER WITH A LIMITED OFFENSIVE ARSENAL HAS HIM REGULARLY DEFENDED 1-ON-1, UNLIKE THE TOP SCORERS IN THE GAME THAT ALWAYS COMMANDED DOUBLE N TRIPLE TEAMS DUE TO THEIR SCORING ABILITY.... THATS WHY I SAY ITS CIRCUMSTANCIAL .. BUT IF U ONLY GO BASED OFF OF NUMBERS AS OPPOSED TO ACTUALLY WATCHING GAMES, I CAN SEE HOW U WONT RECOGNIZE ALL THAT.

It's like they're not even trying. :dahell: This guy was, what, 5 years old during Terry Porter's peak? Where did he even come up with that idea? What part of Porter's skill set could he possibly think would be destroying Kyle Lowry? :what:

Look it’s pretty simple. Leagues don’t create rules to make scoring harder. It’s damn near against their business model.
The NBA makes rules all the time to make scoring harder if it's not the kind of scoring they want to see. Widening the lane because Mikan was too dominant, widening it again because Wilt was too dominant, banning excessive elbow-swinging by offensive players because big guys were using it to clear out too much, pushing the three-point line back out because spacing was bad, and allowing zone defenses because teams were playing too much isolation with their superstars are all examples of the NBA making rules to make scoring harder because they didn't like what those kinds of scoring were doing to the game.

Damn did people even watch the video before running to come defend they agendas
Kobe was a multi time allstar, won most of his rings, and was damn near a HOF lock during the hand checking era
Mentioned him because the jump to 35ppg right after the new rules is an obvious example of him likely exploiting the changes like he was supposed to do
Are you serious? :why::what:

Kobe made the jump to 35ppg because he started shooting 25 times a game since Shaq was gone. Before that he was already shooting about 49-50% on two-pointers every year from 1999 to 2002 and averaged 30ppg in 2003. And that's when he was young and his game was still raw. He improved after that, but the lack of hand-checking didn't do anything for him. When Pau came to the Lakers and Kobe's touches went down, he immediately dropped to 25-27ppg, and that was during his Finals MVP peak. This is obvious.

And the video touches on the original 1994 change but obviously it wasn't enough since anybody watching back then knows they were still hand checking and then felt the need to further define and enforce the rule in 04/05

No way you can watch tape of old games and act like there is no difference, you could literally guide players off their path in the hand checking era. Also remember the illegal defense rule was added in the early 2000s so in the hand checking era you could also camp in the lane. THE shyt WAS HARDER

Hand-checking was first banned in 1979: "Clarification added to prohibit hand-checking through “rigid enforcement” of rule allowing a defensive player to retain contact with his opponent so long as he does not impede his opponent’s progress." And then even that kind was banned in 1995, "Hand-checking eliminated from the end line in the backcourt to the opposite foul line."

Ya'all WAY overrate what they were doing on a regular basis. Show me again where the scary handchecking is stopping scoring in this video. This is the FINALS, both teams supposedly have great defenders on the perimeter, and yet they're at an arm's length 90% of the time and blowing by guys at will.

You want to compare that to the way that Durant/Iggy/Draymond lay hands on LeBron?

This is a half truth, I’m a Cavs fan, I watched Bron and Kyrie iso Ball they way to whatever they want
That's a ridiculous exaggeration - if it were true, the Cavs would have been unstoppable.

The existence of zones means that teams can play LeBron like this if they wanted to:

YOURE THE ONE WHO NEEDS TO WATCH GAMES INSTEAD OF BASING YOUR ENTIRE ARGUMENT OFF OF NUMBERS

LEBRON CAN SCORE, NO DOUBT - BUT TO CALL HIM A TOP 5 SCORER IS RETARDED. PERIOD.
