NASTRADAMUS is a terrible album

Columbia was on some fukk shyt in that period of time. Plus the brother was dealing with the aftermath of the I Am bootlegging, puff turning his back on him, and his mom getting sick and eventually dying.

All of this while hov and others were taking shots at nas and gunning for the KONY

ive never quite understood the hate. part of me feels the album has a reputation and i know people r easily influenced. i feel its ok...for a nas album. i like the majority of songs there. he has worse songs and worse production in his catalogue on other albums. but i mean, its still nas. his pen has never fallen off.
...i just watched the hate me now video w/ the brief warning beforehand. like, yea, many were crucified but not w/ a crown of thorns on their head. label got scared i see. vid must hav been considered controversial for its time.

i listened to it for the first time in a minute and it wasn't bad .

3.5 out of 5 at least.

even after binging Illmatic and the Hit-Boy albums for the last month.

some of his best writing period is on there.

Project Windows (top 10 Nas song IMO), Last Words, Some Of Us Have Angels, Life We Chose

some of the beats are cheesy (its the late 90s tho ) and he had a couple shiny suit singles but I don't hate it.

Agree. This the only Nas album where it's obvious he phoned it in. It has some good tracks but overall disappointing album and easily his worst to this day.

You look at the circumstances surrounding and it's not hard to understand. I Am was supposed to be his magnum opus double album and the bootleggers ruined it. Then his mom got sick. This album was rushed to fulfill record label obligations and it shows.
