Dumb choice. Rape allegations aside, look at this from a marketing perspective. You would want someone like Oprah in your corner to help promote your film. This is business, people. It's not just art, but BUSINESS. That's why they call it show-business. You never put your ego before business. People saying good for him for snubbing Oprah are not being business-minded. They're being short-sighted.

As for the rape accusation, Nate Parker had to anticipate that this would come up sooner or later. Especially in this day and age. So, he should've been prepared to address it. Yeah, we can say that he was already found not guilty and that should be the end of it. And this is true. But the fact of the matter is we all know the world doesn't work that way. It was gonna get brought up regardless, so he should've took the offer to discuss it on his terms.
