Predictable plot. If Birth of a Nation wasn't as bad as it was, I'd probably give it a shot.
I didn't think it was a bad movie, but it needed an experienced director to handle the project. You most definitely can tell it was a first time director behind the camera

Maybe I was a bit harsh. The cinematography was amateur level and it threw off the entire film for me.

Yeah this too:patrice:

It's like this. The main problem with the flick was the fact that it was visual walking on eggshells and the pacing of the flick was weird as all hell. It went from putting the main focus on Nat humble beginnings as a pastor for the slaves, yet it felt like a luckily split second for his rebellion. Honestly, the movie should have been darker than it really was. The dude actually was told from God to kill the slaves:lupe:. They could had took a more Spike Lee approach with the overall tone to the flick, rather than holding so much back on potential:why:

It's still worth a watch despite it's flaws :ld:

I know better than to believe these reviews. The fact they’d trash it in this climate shows it’s all about their hate for Nate Parker more than anything else.

Also, anything with a black man standing up for himself is rarely loved by critics. They love us when we’re the bad guy or when we’re getting beat on.
