pretty much this

after this season, we save about 45 million when those contracts are off the books.

Id rather just trade Gio tho.:mjcry:
Gio might outlast all the pitchers on staff. His combination of youth, economical contract, and his top of the order skillset is too good. Strasburg hadn't lived up to the hype and will command too much money. Nieyhet has bryce. The fanbase is kinda growing restless with both cuz their hype was franchise players and neither of are living up to it though bryce is still very young. Nobody in the city trusts strasburg on a mist win performance. Its unlikely but i would hope they would trade stras before Zimmermann

The deal is for $210 million with half deferred, according to multiple reports. Scherzer reportedly will receive $15 million annually for 14 years. The deal also includes a record $50 million signing bonus

People aren't taking into account Mad Max is going to pitch in the offensively challenged NL so that alone will extend his usefulness a year or two

It doesn't seem like the nationals are all that enthused about retaining strasburg or harper...they will if they can but i don't think they would break the bank on either guy...

Can anyone imagine them giving strasburg or harper a 150 mil + contract at any time in the next 3 years? I can't..

Strasburg has a power arm but his actually pitching leaves alot to be desired...fastball curveball and that's about it...two pitches won't get it done year in and year out

I live here, I know. :heh:

If we had a choice between Zimmerman and Strasburg, id trade Strasburg 9/10 times.

Bryce's problem is health, imo so he gets a pass from me. Strasburg is a mental midget and I dont trust dude.

Gio is too crazy and erratic for me. He the guy I never really warmed up too.

How did you surmise that? :dwillhuh:

We just gave a Boras client a mega deal. If Strasburg and Harper play to their level, they will get a huge deal. Nats will pay the money, its just that those two cats have to perform.

Im more confident in Bryce than Strasburg tho.

I cannot believe they gave him a Bobby Bonilla deal. Who the fukk were they bidding against that they gave him $210 million? :mindblown: :mjlol:

Turned down 144 guaranteed because he thought he could get more. Pitches a full season, then gets 210m

Max :salute:
