South south korea has a completely different culture than the USA. you mentioned south korea informing their citizens on how to become safe but thats one part of the equation. their citizens listen and are largely cooperating. does south korea have major media networks or government officials downplaying the virus?
italy didn't act as early as south korea which allowed the virus to spread further. italy's customs such as personal greetings and large families inhabiting a dwelling made the situation worst during the quarantine.
south korea was doing well treating the first 30 coronavirus patient, then the 31st patient came along and decided not cooperate with quarantine or sanitary advice. patient 31 was the source of 80% of new infections in the country. thats the sort of ignorance and rugged individualism i expect from my fellow Americans and thats why self-quarantined almost 2 weeks ago.
