Great production, direction, and acting, but I agreed with a New Yorker review I read that said basically the material from the book has reached it's limit, though I never read the it, I know the Baldwin commentary.

Modernizing the story cost the movie some of its key thematic points, and almost none of the soul of the book is present in this version.
