I'd love to know what makes "Forever" a classic, I don't think there's an album I've TRIED to like more (including just now due to this this thread)
Word to kid that mentioned the intro which features one of my main problems with the LP, those weak ass drums that are all over the album.
You got tracks like Severe punishment and Deadly Melody which try to revisit that classic 36 sound but lack all the grime and grit, True masters Heaterz is probably the grimiest beat on the whole shyt.
There's definitely some standouts (Bells of war, triumph, reunited, it's yours, a better tomorrow) and not too much flat out wack shyt but a gang of mediocrity imo but still the as far as lyrics / performance the clan def came correct .
I remember many were disappointed with this lp then RZA said something about cats not getting it till 10 years later and plenty of ran with that narrative, It's still ok at best to me.
