It was great era. Guys were competitive and handled it on wax, or right there on stage. No guns, no social media bullshyt. A few fists, maybe a misunderstanding and likely no bad blood for long. Everyone had different styles


I miss that shyt

Now it's nobodies murdering nobodies, with no original style or sound to speak of. Negative engagement farming or trolling because your music isn't interesting on its own. Or fake orchestrated "rap battles" for online clout - it sucks

Never saw this original thread but when De La’s discography hit streaming, I went back through to relisten to everything. One of the main thoughts I had was how weren’t they catching the beats all the time. Dope music but they were talking greasy more than I remembered.
