Naughty Dawg to use Last gen tech for PS4

Halo already implemented a new engine for Halo 4 that was designed for Next Gen
Even Call of Duty finally upgraded its engine

But Naughty Dawg says they will use the same engine they used for uncharted 1 in next gen games

Somehow upgrading for the next gen is a bad thing, don't you agree coli brehz?
Maybe they did that so the downgraded graphics will stream easier to your 5 in' Vita screen in the next room

If it ain't broke don't fix it, It just means that they can spend all their time perfecting graphics, gameplay mechanics and story instead of wasting time building another engine from the ground up. Last of Us is a perfect testament of that





it also means that UC4 could be a launch title or atleast be released sometime in 2014

You mean Frostbite 2.5? Everyone that follows BF3 forums and youtubers know, that it's just basically a very well refined and better optimized FB 2.0, not this leap to a new engine that DICE is touting it as.

it's kinda weird how Bad company 2 had better destruction than BF3 (I can shoot a tank cannon at a brick wall someone is hiding in and it won't damage it at all) and it's supposedly on an inferior engine

it's kinda weird how Bad company 2 had better destruction than BF3 (I can shoot a tank cannon at a brick wall someone is hiding in and it won't damage it at all) and it's supposedly on an inferior engine

I would not call it better as in how it looks, the details of the debris and stuff, but it defiantly had way more buildings you could bring down. Like in BF3 there are some buildings that will completely collapse, but it is more restrictive and tactical in which building are totally collapsible.

Hopefully they will allow more destruction bf4, but not like BC2 where like the whole place was wrecked.

All that was cute but basically your saying your cool with the fact that they using the same engine they used back in 2007 You can't spin that into "Well, games will be better because of it" No, they make new engines to make better worlds/etc. FACT. What this means is Higher Res Uncharted 3 graphics with little editions. And what you felt looked good this gen will look below average by November 2013 so please stop with the bullshat. All this new tech, and every Naughtydawg game will NOT take full advantage of the PS4 advancements. The engine is not even Direct X11 compatible but I'll just stop talking because I know this info will hurt feelings and then the messenger will be attacked.
