So like I said, you got your info from Fanboy central. This hoe said "youtubers" which is a gay azz thing to say so naturally streamers and confetti flew in the air (in your mind) and since you don't know any game devs nor could you provide a single link to back up your claims. I'll just keep it moving until you do :win:

That frostbite 3 naming is just marketing hype to sell the game (crazy right? never heard of marketing) like that demo reveal did not look like it was a brand new engine. It was beautiful and all, but not this leap to a new iteration that they were saying it was. I mean ffs still had same gun models, same gun sound, same soldier animation, same character as bf3. Ye some were probably placeholders but even then it was not this way better looking game than bf3.

Like that makes any difference though idgaf if it is frostbite 4 or 5, 6 gimme 1080p 60fps (rumored 720p 60fps) on next gen and i will be happy.

But on another note like why does it matter if they use an old engine or new one as long as the game plays and looks good and you enjoy it, why should this naming matter to you if the experience you have is great regardless which iteration of a game engine they use?

IN game? MOst of them. Games sometimes take a minute to get TO THE TITLE screen. But in game, loading isn't really an issue. Not where its a complaint? Nah bruh, thats a PS3 exclusive right there. Even if there are 3/4/5 xbox games that have loading times. Thats not enough to say they all in the same boat, cuz they not :umad: tho

once again, name one game on the 360 that doesn't have loading times.

Anyone else very happy that they're not messing around with the engine? **** is perfect as it is - I hate it when they change successful games all the time as it just ruins what made it great in the first place. All they need are slight tweaks here and there, such as online features.

This is a common practice. Splinter Cell Conviction I think was running on Unreal Engine 2. COD still uses old netcode I believe

The fanboy spin in this thread is making me dizzy.

On some "ya keep the old shyt, if it ain't broke don't fix it"

Coli Logic: Why didn't they just slap a number 4 on the PS3 then and rerelease it? :krs:

Coli Logic: Super Mario Brothers 1 for the NES is perfect. No need to change it. I'm going to cop that shyt for the PS4.

very few engines are made 'from the ground up'

most of these "it's not a new engine" arguments tend to be semantics

If you read the article, they explain it perfectly.

They went and built a new engine for the PS3 to match the idea of next-gen, letting go of the ol' Jak & Daxter engine. But as it turned out the building and fine-tuning of the engine took so much time and effort that if they had just updated the engine they were already accustomed to, they could've started dropping heat faster and cheaper with the same results.

Sony makes same controller and the fanboys are like "why change it"
I guess the new ps4 controller is a negative because it'll take a while for devs to learn the controller?
PSN was hijacked? Let's keep that the same too!
Used game DRM? (now they wanna stop playing dumb)
