The answer to all recruitment issues is......pay more :manny:
Stop wasting trillions on stealth bombers that barely get used and put that money into your people

That being said, my left knee was sore from doing 100 jumping jacks earlier in the week. I can't imagine someone over 35 doing bootcamp
Word or those stupid looking litoral combat ships.

Be nice if the government invest in education for children.

Promote healthy living
Promote and empower young people to stay together for strong family units.
Actually rehab prisoners instead of caging them and letting them rot and come out 10x worse...

Nah fukk all that...more tax cuts for the rich..more taxes for the poor and arrest em if they don't pay a traffic ticket:mjlit:

The reasons are multifaceted but simple

Conservative base have become extremely anti war (or anti specific wars anyway) and against military wasteful spending

conservative media and activists have destroyed the military's reputation with the anti woke movement

The rabid conspiracy theorist wing of the conservative base which now makes up a large chunk of the base believes the military hierachy are part of the "deep state cabal" which worked to bring down Trump and target conservative "patriots"

In this extremely divided political climate, conservatives are far less inclined to "risk" their lives to protect those "LGBTQ/soy boy/damn liberal"

These generation of teenagers are even more liberal and insulated from the propaganda of military indistrial complex

Now when you consider that overwhelming majority of military enlist are conservative, historically speaking, the end result is a massive decline in new enlist/recruitment numbers

With that going on, the Navy will have to do a complete overhaul of its "PT Test". It is a joke as is, but I could see them lowering whatever the standards are nowadays.

Can't lie, I did the bike on my last PT test :russ:

I can see the benefits especially if someone is 41 and plans to only do four years. It can help jump start those late establishing a career. Those who will get jobs with security clearances can definitely help their job prospects afterwards. Also, NCOs will not have to worry about them acting an ass during liberty like young sailors. That level of maturity may help a lot of young sailors (hypothetically). The issue I do see happening is fraternizing with older sailors that out rank him or her but that already happens. :yeshrug:
