Before this thread gets extra long once the "bedwench/c00n" argument starts, IS IT detrimental to the skin or hair to shower every day/twice a day? I've known people that have said that you shouldn't shampoo your hair every day, so I was wondering if this was in the same realm.

First off. What is the def. Of ethnic? I was always of the impression that ethnicity just suggested a shared language, region, race, or culture. I didn't know it became, anyone who isn't white.
Also, in my experience, I as a black male, shower and clean myself more often, then any white male friend that I've ever known.
White people and a few Asian cats I know go by the, if I can't smell myself, I don't need to shower rule. Walking around for days covered in dirt is just barbaric.
