Fine like I said I'll admit I'm wrong and don't doubt you're lying. Like I said I know you're conservative leaning but you're more tolerable and agreeable than some who simply trying to stir shyt and not engaging in debate honestly.
However maybe I'm just at a different point in my life. I used to be very open to "listening" to hearing all sides and taking "pragmatic " stances towards different ideas no matter how repulsive. However as I've gotten older and just through speaking to the "other side" I realize it's not an intellectual disagreement but the other side is playing for keeps. They only try to engage in honest debate if it keeps you at bay from taking a more dogmatic stance to an issue they feel is a threat to their current place in society. A lot of times, that place is maintaining white supremacy. The "president's" response yesterday is the best example of this dishonest two face behavior. Damn sure can call out radical Islamic terrorists. Damn sure can say in the strongest terms that vandalizismand violence in Berkeley is wrong. But after one side beats teens in the street and kill 3 people we get a "well I'm concerned about hatred on both sides". Tells you what time it is. Nothing else to say.
Your post seems to reek of the same disconnected tone deafness of white conservatives who engage in what I mentioned above and at this point I'm not interested in fairness and don't feel bad about becoming more dogmatic and zealous in attacking and defending against people who seem to want to have an "open" and "honest" intellectual debate about issues that seriously just boil down to arguing for a system that effectively puts black people as second class citizens. Tired of debating these people and I think black people in the US need to start playing for keeps in every case. My humanity isn't a debatable issue and people who seek to threaten that aren't just there "other side". They are the enemy.
Hypocrisy be damn because the other side does not care about fairness and honesty. They only care about gaining or maintaining an advantage by any means necessary. Time to start playing the same game and to me, it seems to get more results.
PBS did a series of documentaries on Timothy McVeigh and Ruby Ridge and the connection between those two events. The WS embraced those cultists and their ideology spread to these militia groups. These are people who are firm and set in their beliefs and yet we hear from some quarters that we need to listen to these guys or "engage" as if you can debate someone out of their racism. It seems the assumption is that these people don't know any better or a misled by the media as some people like to claim. They cannot just bring themselves to admit that some people are racist simply because it is who they are at their core, that's their culture , values and norms. It's ridiculous that calling people racists is actually more condemned especially after the election, like being nice to them will ever make them change.
