When's the last time a team won with a PG like CP3 that needs to control everything on offense?
You can point to Dwyane Wade and Tony Parker as players similar to
that have won chips in the last decade, you won't find a PG like CP3 this century that won a title.The type of PG Westbrook (And Rose/Curry) is, represents the evolution of the position.

it doesnt matter much really...since neither russ or cp3 are gonna win a title...

Another stupid statement. Don't you realize the league has changed. What's gonna be your excuse once one of these teams with a scoring point guard wins a championship? It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. With more and more teams having a Curry/Westbrook/Irving type point guard, by the law of averages one of these teams will eventually win a championship.
At least you admit he got outplayed. As for the 30 ppg pg, that's tbd. They said a 2guard scoring champ couldn't win either. I think it depends on the team who I would pick. For Okc I pick Russ. Besides KD nobody else can score like that.

Tony Parker is not a traditional PG, he's not going to run your offense and set people up as his first priority, he's going to attack and if the opportunity to score isn't there he'll give up the rock. Tell me, how that's a reach for
when Monsieur Steal Yo Girl's best year (22ppg 7apg) lines up with like numbers? And most importantly, their games resemble one anothers more so than CP3, take away the dunking ability and how much different is from a prime Tony that used to score in the paint at will.
It's already happened too, Tony Parker won a chip as the leading scorer on a team.

you keep posting stats....thats not really what im talking about....russ will always have better scoring stats than just about any pg...because hes a scorer. FIRST. a pg should be the quaterback of your team....hes looking to score instead running his team
IMO thats why okc keeps falling short....russ should be playing SG....

Whether dudes wanna acknowledge it or not, a team with a scoring PG as 1a/1b option will win a ship in the next few years, for the simple fact that the current crop of PGs are better players/scorers than the SGs. I don't know why dudes are still holding onto this stupid idea of what a PG is suppose to do, it don't mean a damn thing when there isn't the contrary to fall back.on.

Did you miss the OKC/LA series last season or something?
CP3 averaged 23/12/4 on 51% shooting with with 2 turnovers a game in that series. Don't get me wrong Westbrook balled out in that series but it ain't like CP3 was putting up Eric Snow numbers
Uh, Tony Parker is looking to score, why do you think Manu was so important to them? Because he could run the offense while Tony functioned like an attacking SG at times.
Nah, PG's playing quarterback has had very little success when it comes to winning titles, haven't you noticed the move away from CP3 type of PGs lately? Guys like Rose, Westbrook, Irving and Curry are the future of the position, and they are all more closely in line with Tony Parker than they are with Cp3. The best young PGs in the league are all of that type...

He did play well, ain't no denying that. But Westbrook had 10000000x more impact on that series than Paul did. Paul had one game where he basically single-handily decided the outcome of the game, Westbrook had at least three. Can you honestly sit there and tell me Westbrook wasn't the better player out of the two in that series?
