You play 8 games coming from the bench in the first season, HS/college/first season is simply the Spike's film thing.
If you want you can even sim everything, it'll change nothing, from season 2 the REAL mode starts, I can hit the gym, hang out witth other players, see the stats etc., it's where the game starts.
