Melo couldn't get the Knicks into the Playoffs in a HISTORICALLY weak Eastern Conference. That certainly counted against him. Phoenix overachieved this year and if you put them in the east, they would've been one of the top teams, and of course they were going to use any excuse to put a Cac in so there goes your Love selection...

And not saying the Knicks not making it was all on Melo, but as the captain of the ship sometimes you gotta sink with it.....

not gonna argue the dragic pick (at least his team was like 1 game out the playoffs), but whats up with kevin love? put up good numbers on a team that wasn't even close to making the playoffs. same as he has every year of his career. can't have love and NOT have melo.

I disagree with this. Steph seems to get a bit overrated nowadays. He's a great player but he's not a superstar yet. He still struggles with creating his own shot and maintaining control of the ball, he's much more effective when he's not the main ball handler on the floor. He's also not a good defender and while his playmaking abilities improved this past season, the only area where he really excels at is shooting. If he stays at this level for the rest of his career, I don't see a way that he will ever be the best player on a championship contending team
But to me he's still better than Harden and Harden hasn't shown me that he can be the best player on a title team either.

I dunno if someone who doesn't even know how to play defense at the pro level like Harden should be considered one of the 5 best players in the game. I'd bump him for someone like curry.

Melo should have been at least 3rd team, he kept that team from being bucks/sixers level bad.

I get that it's funny to mock Melo, but he just put up 27, 8, and 3 on 45/40/85% despite playing with a fat, hurt pg who can't shoot, a rockhead SG who was hurt and out of shape much of the year, a center who was injured and has no real offensive repertoire, and a thin bench. He was the Knicks offense every night, and teams keyed on him, and he still put up beastly #s. He got played the fukk out by the voters.

Glad Dragic got some shine.
