how does someone "deserve" an all star spot? is not being the leading vote getter by over 200k not make him deserving? all-star game is for the fans to watch and thus they want the players they want to watch in, all-nba teams are for players that have the best seasons for their positions. y'all need to stop tripping, kobe deserves this spot as much as anyone else because it's just the ASG.

Like there's not a contract clause where if you're voted in as an all-star starter you can get paid more money when you're coming off your rookie contract
Yes the actual game is meaningless, but being selected isn't. It's just that the system is broken due to fans just voting their favorite players in regardless of whether they deserve it or not. It's not even a Kobe thing, I thought it was far worse when Yao Ming was getting voted in every year despite missing most, if not all of the respective seasons.
Anybody who's shocked at Kobe getting the most votes is delusional. He got voted in a couple years ago when he played 6 games, you think he wasn't gonna get a bunch of votes when he's on his retirement tour?
