You cant do 1/16 because it wont be a balanced schedule because of time zones...Theres no integrity to that set up unless all teams play each other the same number of times home and road.

Please explain further and tell me how that negatively impacts the fan experience or fails to reward the teams that do the best during the season.

I dont mean the playoff series but you will have teams in the West finishing closer to 15/16 because they have to play the Warriors more than they do the Magic...

Unless you have an equal schedule for everyone playing the same number of times home and road you wont see a 1/16 playoff structure...so basically you would have to eliminate conferences and have one 32 team division...

Doesn't sound like you believe in your Raps to me

For instance this upcoming season a 1-16 playoff seeding would be grossly unfair to to everyone not in the top 5 of the West.
They have to play the entire West and only get to play the East twice home and away. Youd have far worse teams in the East clogging up the bottom of that bracket because there schedule is easier....

Impossible because of time zones.
If they start and end the season earlier it can happen. Start regular season Oct 1. End regular season in late march. Playoffs start April 1. Every round 2-3-2 format so there is less travel and there'd be 2 off days when changing locations. They can even make it 3 days if its cross country thats why you start the playoffs 2 weeks earlier than usual.

they gotta find a way to do it if baseball can have playoffs with teams in different time zones
baseball doesn’t do East /West and during the playoffs, in the divisional round, they’ll schedule a game at 1 or 4pm during the week if need be. The NBA won’t do that.

Also, it’s a scheduling problem. If theoretically the West or East have the higher seeds, the games would all come on at the same time which is bad for TV. Not to mention, the schedules would be unequal.

It’s 50/50. The teams are gonna be more evenly matched, but you’re still gonna have Eastern players get in over more deserving Western players due to there only being 12 roster spots. :yeshrug:
It'll be more balanced. In regards to the contracts thjng, that's just something they'll have to bring up in the next CBA. Gotta deal with it at the moment

There is no basis in history for this. As a matter of fact, this is the issue most folks have with the current set up...shytty east teams getting in just because they are in the east. If you go back and redo previous playoffs 1-16 it would be quite the opposite of what you suggest (along with plenty of years that are even or close to it).

It would be different this year and ur still missing the point. If you go back and re-do previous playoffs it still wouldnt be accurate because the schedules are not balanced in those previous seasons....Youd need a balanced schedule across the board, all those previous years West only played the East twice so you wouldnt get accurate seedings for that year if it were to be 1/16...
