This salary increase is horrible for the game. Players are receiving contracts on an outrageous level (not worth it) and getting paid like baseball players. The league that we use to love regarding trades and free agent signing is no-more and this benefit small market teams the most.

the money needs to be distributed properly

if anthony davis makes 28 mil a year, demarre carroll shouldnt make 15

for demarre to be "worth" 15, anthony davis should be making 45-60

the guys who generate the revenue are underpaid

the no name role players are damn near making the same money as the guys who make the nba profitable in the first place

When the cap goes up to 107million. 15million is the equivalent of 9.3million on the old 67million cap. Most of these teams are getting bargains by giving out these contracts. Kyrie/Kwahi/Jimmy will be making the equivalent of 10.5 million once the cap goes up

Players are getting paid like this in anticipation of the rising cap. So what needs to happen is us adjusting what we consider overpaid to begin with. When LBJ is making like 40 mil per in 2017 its still the same 10+ years max contract that it would be today (35% of the cap). There's just a larger pool of money available
