People said the same thing in the late 80s when Hot Rod Williams was the highest paid player at 5 Mill. The league survived then and will survive these salaries as well.

he wasnt even making 500k in the 80s

there's a difference between giving someone money because you think they might be a star and paying a guy who is at best, an aging "3 and D" guy to be on a team that has zero chance to even make it out the first round.

It will survive but just like the owners want. You won't see another Lebron fiasco or Shaquille leaving Orlando again.

Yes you will as long as there is free agency unless they gonna make indentured servitude like the NFL with that franchise tag shyt.

Crazy cause we got busta QBs in the NFL making 18 Mill and then you got super star players like Dez who got to beg to make some decent money.

NBA is the only sport when you know a dude is just a bum real rap. Dez is the best receiver in the game but they don't win championships. Lebron only makes 5 or 6 mil more than Lillaird type of shyt

you've got role players who are good at 1 or 2 things making 80% of what guys like lebron and durant make.....that's not capitalism.
that's the labor movement in action :lawd: labor never stands still, if they don't fight for role players getting overpaid, everyone will be underpaid

The Cavs didn't think that dude was a star he was a marginal player and a back up big. They over paid because they did not want to lose him as a free agent. Even Jordan was making 3 Mill at the time.

People forget these huge contracts that Jim mcilvaine, john koncak and Jerome Jones made. Avg and below avg dudes have been getting paid for decades.

Goodell era football is all about the QB's - they're ruining the league by making it a 100 yard Arena game now. WR's and RB's be damned, it's all about the QB now.

Muthafukkas forget that being a professional entertainer (which is what an athlete is) commands a high salary because

1. they are very skilled at what they do which means people will pay to watch them perform and
2. the teams are making a fortune which is why the players deserve so much. If this wasn't the case, they wouldn't be paid like this.

Nobody ever said Frank Sinatra was overpaid. Nobody every said the Rolling Stones are overpaid.

:mjpls:

Exactly....Tom cruise makes 30 Mill a movie no one says shyt. These teams are all worth close to a billion after the clippers were sold for 2 bill. They better pay these players.

we want the players to get paid....we just want the right players to get paid

lebron james and paul millsap should not have comparable salaries
anthony davis and damian lillard should not be getting the same contract

Why don't I see you complaining in mlb contract threads? People acting like the nba is the only sport that has wild contracts. :dahell:

Championships
This salary increase is horrible for the game. Players are receiving contracts on an outrageous level (not worth it) and getting paid like baseball players. The league that we use to love regarding trades and free agent signing is no-more and this benefit small market teams the most.

Healthy ticket sales breh..... the front offices and owners are rolling in dough these days. they can afford it.
