It’s more contagious, deadly, and it’s new so health care officials can’t make a good prediction on how this is going to play out in the long term. I think the most concerning part for decision makers is that someone could be a carrier without showing any symptoms. With the flu that’s bad, but given how much more deadly COVID-19 is it would be irresponsible to have large gatherings of strangers if the outbreaks continue to develop.
