To be honest I was happy seeing the black couples and their black kids winning. The undefeated years ago did a piece that a majority of D-1 athletes come from college educated parents

There is something to be said about the current system prioritizing these expensive leagues and travel teams and they in some ways do marginalize talent from the poorest areas.

If you’re not a part of a known program or academy it seems less likely you’re going to get a serious look and consideration from coaches and scouts.

These more privileged dudes still have to put in the work. And AAU has arguably been a detriment to what is now meta.

It was to be expected honestly.. I mean NBA is the best of the best of the best. There's been what, 4,000 players in its history? The margins are so slim, that the x-factor was always going to be money. Best trainers, best diets, best schools from a young age. Kids in the hoods don't have that luxury, and end up falling a step behind.
