nikkas aint bout to play hard for their replacement :heh: Just look at how them Cavs players was acting about Bron.
If you’re a star player on a contending team, then
it wouldn’t be your replacement. That player would be the difference between you getting a ring or prolonging your championship window.

It’s all about getting star players motivated as that’s who will mainly matter in this tournament at the end of the day.

Rings matter at the end of the day right or at least that’s what people say?

not a good idea because as is, the team that wins is probably already a playoff team.

IMO they should make it a tournament for players 25 and under, if your team doesn't have enough bodies then raid the g-league. Let the younger guys play, and they will be more motivated for the cash incentive anyway.

It might very well be. D. Rob came back from his injury avg 20 and 10 but it was Tims team and everything going forward reflected that. At the very least it impacts your leverage. It certainly aint gonna motivate dudes to play hard. Beyond all that vets dont like playing with young dudes...especially when they trying to win chips.

the biggest issue imo will be teams/players attitude to losing during the tournament..

if multiple teams players discredit the tournament " were not worried bout the tournament, were playing for 1 chip" talk fans will say the same thing .

D. Rob wasn't playing for legacy like a lot of other players like KD, Bron and others are doing now. Ask a lot of those superstar players out here would they want Wemby on their team if they had the chance to do so via the lottery and see what answer you get especially if it helps them get a ring.

Even if you don't keep that young player on the team, it's another asset you can use to go out and get someone else to help you win now.

I'd up the ante and throw a 1st round lottery pick to the winner of the team. Yeah it won't necessarily motivate the players, but it would motivate the teams instead if it meant potentially getting in the top half of the lottery or the 1st pick in general.

For the players, that lottery pick could potentially be what helps you get a ring depending on player and/or return that it turns into.
The lottery pick is more likely gonna help you lose your job than to help you win a title.

Wembys dont come out every year. And when they do and its time to trade somebody it wont be them :pachaha:

I am sure D. Rob appreciated Tim. I am equally sure he aint playing hard to get the chance to draft him.

You don’t have to trade Wemby or the first round as he’s a valuable asset on a cheap rookie contract especially in this age where salaries are steadily increasing.

The option is there to keep or move. Let’s not act like extra first round picks aren’t important to teams out here especially contenders.

Ask Milwaukee about it and see what they see.

No.

The award for the IST, should be homecourt in the first round and ability to pick your playoff opponent in the first if you make it.

If you dont make the playoffs, you get increase of lottery odds by a certain percentage. Let's say by 8%.
