I don't like the idea because it's gonna knock out some other team that fought all season for it. Plus, if they're a lower seed then it reduces their incentive to compete for the rest of the year.

The play-in is already an elimination tournament for the last two slots. No need to have two of the same thing.

So the players would be playing for the honor of getting replaced? Lol.

Draft pick doesn't make sense. If you want an incentive that improves the team, give them extra salary cap space or some shyt.
The only guys that would consider dogging it out there would be the end of the bench nikkas that get almost zero tick anyway…

And how many of those Maxwell Lewis type nikkas gonna throw away 500K like that also while putting ass tape out there ?

Team like the lakers would’ve probably used it as an extra trade chip anyway

For the futbol fans, was there equal amount of discourse when they started all the different in season tournaments?

I know there’s different leagues for different countries but idk if it’s multiple tournaments during the season or just one big tournament like the World Cup.

There's a huge difference because the cup competitions started waay back in the day, so they have always just existed to basically everyone who was born after 40s/50s. All countries have their own league+cup, some countries have 2 national cup competitions.

There's 3 European competitions that have changed a bit, but Champions League used to be European Cup which was started in the 50s, Europa League used to be UEFA Cup (started in the early 70s) and there used to be Cup Winners Cup (from 1960 to 1999) where winners of the national cup competitions competed in. Only new tournament is Conference League, but it's basically for a bit smaller clubs/clubs from smaller nations so most of the fans who's teams play in the Conference League are exited about it.

As an example English FA Cup is older than the English league system. Even English League Cup (which is basically a secondary cup competition) is 60+ years old.

No. If they make the top 8 they should get play-in immunity though. If they end up the 7th or 8th seed the 6th seed should be forced into the play-in to take their place.

NO. WHY WOULD YOU GUARANTEE
A PLAY OFF SPOT TO A TEAM
THAT MIGHT NOT EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS,
WHEN ALL THEY DID WAS WIN
A FEW REGULAR SEASON GMS
BACK IN NOVEMBER?

It should only be a guaranteed playoff spot if you finish in the 4 play-in teams. Like I said if you win this and make the play-in you should get an automatic bump up to #6 and the #6 seed pushed down to #7.
