last night, he was guarding IQ and RJ and he wasn’t getting abused like that

Of course all the triple doubles & flashy handles get talked about the most, but one thing most folk haven't said a word about since the trade is how much attention both Kyrie & James give to defense. Took some embarrassing losses to CLE, WSH, and DET but they're trying on that end which you couldn't say about them on previous teams.

He'll always be a liability because he's small but I've never seen Kyrie ask somebody else to pick up his assignment, whether he's switched onto a mismatch or not, he's not like Steph and these other smaller guards. Go watch those Clippers matchups and watch him fight Kawhi post ups with 100% effort.

Kyrie is far from the worst defender. The main knock on Kyrie defensively is he is undersized so he can be over powered by certain players. But he can defend one on one at a pretty high level when needed.

Kyrie is a good defender when he’s engaged on defense. He’s a sieve when he’s not. Kyrie is also a great passer when he wants to be; the issue is he never wants to be lol. Brad Stevens used to always talk about how Kyrie was the best passer he ever saw in practice.
