Just played it and its quite average. Maybe its because Im so used to to 2k, but I wasnt really feeling the controls. The "2k" cam on Live is pretty bad as well, it kinda of forces you to play on Broadcast cam which I hate. The game still isnt on the level of 2k but should be near in a few years.

It does not look as bad as people are saying, to me atleast.
I went through w/ the training (Which, I my opinion is needed considering NBA2k mechanics are muscle memory for me & most people)
And I played through the scrimmage. It'll take some getting used to but if they get enough positive feedback to instill confidence in the brand again... breh...
