What do you guys think of the NBA if they got rid of the lottery and did like other sports worst team pick first.

the nba draft is too weak and top heavy to get rid of the lottery

you could just tank for 2-3 years and you would have a dynasty

imagine if their was no lottery and a team tanked and got the 1st pick 3 years in a row from 03-05 they would have Dwight,Bron,&CP3 or Deron(Bogut wouldnt have went #1 cause they already have Dwight)

its different in the nfl mainly cause of how big your roster is and 1 player doesnt have as big an impact on the team like basketball

you can have the #1 pick in football 3 years in a row and still suck, that wouldnt happen in the nba

Just as it was just getting good
I like that it rewards bad but not dreadful. And the worst 3 teams can't go any lower than 4,5 or 6 anyway. The reason the same teams end up in the lotto isn't the lack of players to be chosen, it's the people who pick and coach these players who are mostly to blame.

On the flip side though, how can you have a team of Dwight and Bron and still tank bad enough to win the #1 pick?

Not every team can attempt to lose intentionally and succeed.

theres nothing wrong with the lotto. the problem is you never see the actual process, and you get these scenarios where it looks grossly fixed. its basic as can be to televise the actual drawing process, and no one would take issue with it if you had a third party drawing the teams out of a huge rotating bin of ping pong balls
