much more respect. especially when they take a paycut like dirk and timmy.

But they got rings and even when they were in shytty situations the front office paid thier loyalty back.

A lot of these dudes have inept losing front offices and in the new era of journalism I don't blame these dudes for ring hoppin. I know the older ringleas cats wish they could of hopped around to get atleast one in thier day too

Doesn't mean a damn thing. Everyone's situation is different.

If KG never leaves the Wolves, he's seen as a perennial loser, much like Melo and T-Mac.

You can't have it both ways. You can't judge a player largely by team success (rings), but then ask said player to remain loyal as opposed to seeking out the best situation for him to attain team success.

The guys who've stayed in one city typically were in a great situation to begin with. A larger market attractive to free agents and they always had talent around them. Wade in the post-Shaq years prior to 2010 is probably the one exception.

The post-Shaq years prior to 2008 had LA leaning. How could anyone forget about the Smush Parker years?

nothing at all? so player A hopping from team to team for his rings is equal to player b staying in the same city for his?

Does playing for more than one team discredit the Dream or Barkley or Jordan or Kareem in anyway? Does that lessen their greatness as basketball players? no

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
I would count PP in that. He stayed and stuck it out, even when we were fukking terrible, and when he agreed to the Nets trade, he did so in a way that it helped his situation but also helped the team with the package because he and Danny worked out the best deal for both of the. He will always be the captain, and will always be welcome in Boston. That man will never be booed, will never be hated on by the fans, and will retire a Celtic. The majority of the time, there is animosity, but there is absolutely none with him, on either side.

do they deserve more respect than those that hop from situation to situation?

guys like Magic, Duncan, Kobe, Bird, Dirk, Jordan, Wade..etc

I think its special when a player comes into the league with one team, has a great career, then leaves on the same team..

how yall feel about this? does it add to the legacy?

Durant's legacy could be great if he stays in okc and wins some rings down there
Everybody knows this is a Tobe simp thread.
:mjlol:

If you're drafted by a team that puts you in a situation to win you have no reason to leave. But if they don't you have your right to look elsewhere. Now stop being a little ''oh let's dikk ride these players for being drafted into a good situation''.

I mean no disrespect to Mav's fans but I wouldn't feel bad before he re-upped his contract if Dirk went " ring chasing". That dude is possibly the sole reason for that organizations success. I have no clue if any semi superstar/ superstar have issues with Cuban as their boss but I've been to Dallas and it's a cool city and have no clue why anyone wouldn't want to go there but I feel bad for Dirk

I think "legacy" is the most overused word in the current sports lexicon. :yeshrug:

And yes the legacies of any of those the "one team" guys are much greater than those of Wilt, Kareem, Hakeem, Big O, Dr. J, Shaq and Jordan. Those guys legacies are so tainted. :heh:

:mjlol: at people acting like Kobe and Wade were some sort of saints for sticking with teams that they won titles with AND who's down fall they contributed to (Kobe forcing Shaq and Phil out, Wade being hurt) AND whose down periods lasted 3 years. Kobe was ready to jump ship until they turned it around and who knows what Wade does if Bron and co. don't come to town.
