Hmm, good point. I'd say that argument holds more weight for Russy since he did it with multiple injuries to key players (including the reigning MVP) and with a lesser bench but obviously the record must be taken into consideration. I get what you're sayin,g tho. Plus I'm a Harden-hater so I'm biased

I agree regarding Russy, but Houston has been holding court on that 2 seed. Its impressive, players def notice shyt like that

Although I don’t like that their waiting until the summer to announce the winners. Next year they need to do that shyt just prior to the playoffs so it runs concurrently with the media’s selection and can effectively trump it. It’d be great to start the playoffs knowing the player’s choices for MVP, DPOY, etc.. as that would quickly become the main storylines.

Ehhh, I remember NFL players voting for the Washington version of Donovan McNabb in that Top 100 voted by the players and they also had Peyton Manning who sat out all year at number 50

But they should have a voice. I know the NHLPA has their own separate MVP award that gets presented at the same award show as the media MVP and the results for the most part are the same or was the runner up of the media MVP. It should be interesting comparing winners and placement to see how the players and media differentiate in their thinking.

As much as I liek the idea of players voting on their own sh!t and saying fukk the media there are many ways I think this may fail.

Players are too close to the action n order NOT to be too biased. Not that writers arent biased too. But I hope they can put their differences/biases aside and vote based on performance and not just for their boy

The biases are still more likely to be player A doesn't like player B.

It would be a popularity contest among the players... Look at soccer where players are allowed to vote since 2010: Messi and Ronaldo have never voted for each other (not even in the top 3)
