It "feels" longer than usual because they're televising it more and people are thirsty as fukk for the NBA because of this past Finals, the offseason moves (particularly KD), and the terrible start of the NFL season. Basically there's more anticipation for the NBA this year; normally nobody would even notice the preseason, or even acknowledge the league until around Christmas.

I think you're right.

Doesn't help that the NFL is trash. I think usually people were more focused on football, but with the NFL dying we need the NBA to start sooner.
