This class to me was solid. No superstars jumping out the gate immediately but definitely some allstar caliber players. I know it's only been one season, but let's evaluate.

I think the consensus surprise was Donovan Mitchell who will gather multiple allstar appearances in his career. He averaged 20 ppg in a tough conference. Hope breh can stand Utah and wants to stay cause he's the steal of the draft for them.

Kuzma showed out too. He's second in scoring amongst rookies at 16 ppg. Alot of teams are definitely kicking themselves for passing him up

Jordan Bell out in GS really surprised me. Not a guy that will score much but his activity and motor is great. I hope he can evolve along the lines of Drayton.

I expected more from Malik Monk especially in Charlotte. He only played about 13 mins a game and averaged 6 points. I thought surely a shooter of his caliber would see the floor more. Hopefully he'll see more PT when Kemba is shipped out.

What rookies caught your eye and/or disappointed you?

Didn’t Malik Monk spend most of the year in the G League though? He didn’t really get a fair shake.

DMitch got superstar written all over him, Utah won’t be able to keep him.

Lonzo Ball :mjlol:

We all knew Ben Simmons was gonna be nice.

DSJ and Jayson Tatum :wow: perennial all star written all over those two young lads.

Lauri was lighting nikkas up for a lil while, looking like a young Dirk.

Jonathan Isaac and Josh Jackson were disappointing, although Josh started to turn it up towards the end of the season. That nikka clearly don’t want to be in no Phoenix.

Overall the 17 class has been excellent thus far, definitely one of my favorites in recent memory.

Jarrett Allen from brooklyn definetly has potential showing ability to finish under the rim not afraid to get dunked on attempting to block a shot and displayed the ability to shoot the three ball at the age of 19

Terrence ferguson is the shooting guard that okc is missing he has a pretty jumper at has the ability to posterize and dunk the ball

Zach collins also 19 like josh jackson has shown ability later in the years and can become a really good shooter stretch 4

Best rookie class in a while. I haven’t seen so many rookies contribute in a major way in their first year. I expect even more from them in their second and third years.

My way too early observations/predictions:

Donovan Mitchell will be a star, and Simmons (if you include him in this rookie class) will be the future of the sixers.

Fultz in a small serving size was very impressive as well.

Tatum will be a problem as he progresses

Lauri will be averaging 20ppg by 2020.

Zo will still be a horrible shot, but will average 12pts/7reb/9ast with 38% fg/35% 3pt/75% ft next year. Still not 2nd pick worthy but better than this year

Kuz will slump next year, but have a 16 ppg 6 rpg year.

Super Hot Take: I think the Suns, if they get Ayton, will be a playoff team in a matter of 2 years. Booker will be even better, Josh Jackson will be a legit baller, and I think Ayton will be ROY next year.

Mitchell is obviously the surprise and the best of the bunch at least for right now if we aren't counting Simmons. The impact of Tatum and Markannen doesn't even need to be elaborated on, they're clearly great players.

The Laker boys are a mixed bag, Kuzma being the better of the 2 but his role on the team remains to be seen especially if a star comes there. Ball was disappointing, he had moments but he wasn't all that good, I expect a resurgence next year.

Then you have guys like Fox, DSJ and Jackson who were inconsistent but showed flashes of being great players, I believe all of these guys will eventually be all stars.

Last but not least you had guys like Monk, Isaac and Fultz who didn't play much either due to injury or incompetence on the team's part, and I also believe all 3 of these guys will be good to great.

Everyone else has been okay, no one in the draft stands out to me as flat out busts, there's guys who look like valuable role players like Collins and Allen, but there's also guys whose never had a chance to even showcase themselves like Justin Patton and Luke Kennard.

Good draft class, not all time great draft class like some insist but good nonetheless.
