Taking a charge after a player gives the ball up is the worst call in the NBA.

The Karl Malone/Charles Barkley/Mark Jackson rule is backing someone down for more than 5 seconds.

What you are talking about is if an offensive player takes more than 5 seconds to dribble the ball without advancing towards the basket. That's more of a college rule, than in the NBA. Someone posted an example of it.

The two rules I abhor are the charge rule, particularly contact after the player gives up the ball, and the offensive player jumping into a defender on a jump shot and drawing a foul on the defensive player. It annoyed me when Reggie Miller did it in the 90s. I don't know how that's a defensive foul and the jump shooter initiates the contact. On top of that, is there logically any difference between a charge call after the offensive player releases the ball and a jumps shooter drawing a foul after initiating contact?

I posted the video that showed the rule I was referring too. But thanks for letting me know it was two different rules like I originally thought.

The five second rule which I rarely have ever seen called is one that I have never understood at all. Not the out of bounds one. This one=• The official(s) will visually commence a five-second count if an offensive player with the ball and not facing-up starts dribbling below the free throw line extended while being closely guarded; or if he starts dribbling outside and then penetrates below the free throw line extended while being closely guarded. The five-second count commences when the offensive player penetrates the free throw line extended. The penalty is the offensive team’s loss of possession of the ball." This is not the same as the Mark Jackson rule.

That's primarily a HS and College rule :dahell:

You couldnt find a nba link is because it never happens

Obviously, the "charges", especially when dude gives the ball up

Also when they call incidental contact such as an offensive tripping on the teh defensive palyer's foot a defensive foul. If the defensive player didn't extend teh foot, how is that a foul, look where you're putting your feet lol

You wanna talk about how you don't understand 35 second shot clocks too? :heh:

That rule is an NBA rule. Just cause I couldn't find an NBA link for it doesn't mean it's not a rule. It has been called before on an NBA player just not often. U see players dribble the shot clock down all the time. Hence the reason I said don't understand how a play that happens every other play in an NBA game can be a illegal too. And its in the offician NBA handbook. So u can miss me with that 35 second bullshyt u spitting.

I swear Wade travels half the time he does that move where he brings the ball over his head. In fact LeBron gets away with so many fukking travels too its ridiculous.

I watch dudes like Parker, Pierce and Kobe with picture perfect foot work... Then watch these too clowns travel on damn near every play. Stop swallowing your whistle on terrible foot work, refs.
