I just don't understand not getting the shot if you're consistently around people. It doesn't seem safe at all to go without the shot. If they could opt to stay at home then that's a diff story. Bet they won't take a couple years off to stay safe, though.

It all comes down to people absorbing dumb shyt from YouTube and Twitter. All of it. Had the pandemic happend in the 90s this wouldn't be an issue.
Unfortunately it's a cult and people won't change their minds, their whole identity revolves around being unvaccinated. Arguing with an antivaxxer is like arguing with a Trump supporter.
League and owners are hypocrites.
Talking about these players will have to live with the consequences of their decisions but they're quick to change the meaning of a guaranteed contract to players being paid on a game by game basis because their own decisions shot themselves in the foot. They guaranteed that money. Players have no control over local laws changing to forbid them playing if they want to maintain the integrity of their body according to personal beliefs. They are not refusing to play. They are refusing a medical option while fully healthy. Their states are forbidding them to play.
If the league and owners were decent, they would pay Wiggins and Kyrie but give the teams the option to replace them with another player who doesn't count in terms of luxury tax and all that.
League and owners basically sold out acting like the players are being immoral when it's the other way around.
Can't believe people still go around saying "nobody is forcing anyone to take the shot" when they are messing with their livelihoods like this.
All because people have an unreasonable fear of death, don't know how to navigate media and don't understand actual science.

I get your point.
You avoid hospitals and certain aspects of modern medicine...and have a consistent viewpoint.
Kyrie/Andrew embrace modern medicine for surgeries and pain meds but doesn't trust a vaccine.

I remember people were actively saying they didn’t want to wear helmets when riding motorcycles to the point where now they were getting tickets if they didn’t.

Then you realize that Wiggins makes around 30 million a year. Kyrie makes about 33-34 million a year.
They still take home 13-16 million in salary, not counting what they've already made. They'll survive, barring absurdly excessive spending habits/lifestyle.
It's the reserves/folks fighting for that last spot that this is going to hurt.
