This is what's wack about the NBA. They made it so that fans become loyal to players and not teams.

The draw is Kobe, not the Lakers. The draw is Rose, not the Bulls. The draw is LeBron... not the GAME itself.

So when certain players aren't involved, fan interest goes down. This is why 90% of the league's teams don't matter and why the majority of the season plays off like a meaningless exhibition.

I'm still following and will still follow the lakers even without kobe(I want him back though) but you can't really deny that the casual fan doesn't watch the nba for it's stars.

You player dikkriders are the worst :scusthov: so you just gonna stop watching the NBA when dude calls it quits? Or find another dikk to hop on?
These clowns have slowly been planting the seeds to make a smooth transition to the Bulls wagon when Kobe is retired. You see them now, watch in a year or two "Bu but I always liked Rose game he got that Kobe mentality".

To Stern's credit, it made sense to promote a league driven by stars because it worked for the last 3 decades. Now the problem is these super teams kill interest outside of the stars because a team concept has never been promoted or marketed properly and when a few of these stars get injured it really hurts the product especial when sports media furthers to promote the individual. Also, I don't think there are as many "stars" in the league now like it was say 10 years ago. You either like a certain player or your indifferent unless you are a fan of a certain team.

I don't deny it. I'm sayin it shouldn't be like that and it keeps the sport from growing.

How many stars does the NBA really have? I mean STARS. Actual marquee draws. 7? 8? At BEST??? And of those stars, how many of them are on a relevant team capable of winning a championship?

There's 30 teams and the fans only care about 8 players. This is a problem. The NBA needs to get it's shyt together.
