Portland & Denver were trash and no better than Chicago/Indiana. Making the playoffs 1-16 wouldn't do anything. A more practical solution would be make round 1 best of 5 again
how does that make it better? and next year portland/indiana wont be better than portland and denver

Did the Warriors Blazers really need a 7 game series? Best of 5 was fine until the league almost got the wrong result. But that's not a big deal neither. League only had 3 title contenders last year, 1 in the east and 2 in the west, not sure how diff that'll be now

how have you spoken facts the audience wants good product, we saw in the finals the NBA isn't hurting for viewership.
We see in attendance they aren't hurting in attendance
we even say in the all-star game they aren't hurting in attendance or ratings, this is documented.
So help me understand how I"m wrong, when I support my side as well.

NBA breaks attendance record for third straight season

The networks are privy to minute by minute ratings. If there's minor details that's affecting ratings of certain games NBA can adjust to keep their television partners happy they'll do it.

Everyone's got their cynical explanations and reasons why they think this change is being made, some of which sound valid, but honestly my first thought was "ok...sounds good." Seems like a perfectly organic change to me in line with sort of the direction the league is going now. In the last few years there's been a noticeable increase in both the instances of teams opting NOT to call time when it would be very traditional to do so, as well as the number of public voices and instances of these figures praising that strategy as sound and smart. The common wisdom is changing with the game itself to favor an even more fast-paced, well-rounded, quick pass and score type sport, and rules are being modified to follow suit. :ehh:

I never had a problem with the game length I actually think games goes by dumb quick when Your there live.

And the excessive timeouts is their fault becuase they let the networks get a couple timeouts to run commercials.

AND STARS STOPPED PLAYING IN PRIMETIME GAMES...

NOW THEYRE CUTTING INTO THE NETWORKS ADVERTISEMENT MONEY.

THEYRE SHOOTING THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT
WHEN ITS TIME TO REUP THE TV DEAL.

So making the NBA more like Euro ball for no reason. SMH
Oh I know the reason.
Seems only in black dominated sports are the rules and the sport expected to cater to the ruleset of inferior leagues, and not the opposite.
You and the idiots that dapped this are fools
