For whatever reason the youth loves him. He’s like the dividing line between younger folks and older hip-hop heads.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt a little while back and listened to a few of his albums all the way through. He’s got an interesting singing type flow and has some introspective lyrics. His lyrics oftentimes talk about street life and all that entails. I guess he sounds genuine, but I have no idea if he is or not.
Anyway, I tried and it’s not the type of music for me. I like drill and trap, but Youngboy isn’t really a typical trap rapper. I guess I’m too old to get it, but I’m okay with that
