He's just really basic to me. Music ain't bad but got damn if 90% of the shyt I heard ain't sound the same. Sad part is he got real talent like when he was on that Tyler jawn he was one of the highlights of the album but he just stay making the same shyt and not evolving. But the kids love his shyt and if it ain't broke guess he not switching :yeshrug:

Uptown, Downtown, Switzerland
people used to say the same about Kevin Gates and look how popular he was sales/streaming wise.

YoungBoy is like the streaming gen's Boosie to me.... Boosie really had a set of devoted fans of all ages all over the south, a section of white fans that were crazy for him and just enough internet presence on YouTube where you understood the appeal more through the dvd's etc

I don't listen to him at all but I remember giving his albums from a like 2018, 2019 a chance at that time and there is def talent there.

Hell naw, im not gon let yall do him like that, bro is a Legend. Over 50 Gold & Platinum Plaques & he not even 24. Number 1 rapper on youtube.

But seriously the reason y’all don’t relate or understand is because of region. If you not from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, or Alabama, i dont expect for yall to relate to the music.
Its like how in New York got they drill sh*t going (which most ppl down here dont really listen too) & thats the regional sound.
Well in the south, the sound Youngboy got is which is basically a hybrid of Underground BR (Lil Phat, Mouse, Young Ready, B-Real, Old Boosie, Webbie) etc. The music is strickly for the club & the streets, we used too call it "Jigg" music when I was a kid. I mean majority of his fan base is in Houston, which is one of the biggest citys in the world .
The fact he took that sound & manage to go mainstream which alot of artist in Louisiana of the past couldnt do, & did it without major features or radio support is another reason he gets the support he does. Plus he's one of the most versitale artist of this era, he makes good pain music & love songs as well. But yall not gon post his lyrical music tho
Add in the local beefs he won on & off the streets & being in and out of jail. Being successful since 18, You create a loyal/cult like fan base.

TBH, people down here (Including myself) already consider him one of the greatest of all time & the Lil Wayne/Boosie of this era. His influence down here is crazy.
