This is the country where a woman sued McDonald's for burning her when she spilled her coffee on herself even though it had a warning label on it. We have a guy here who failed to catch a boomerang, got his in the face with it, sued himself, and was awarded $300,000 for the lawsuit. This is not surprising :heh:

You have a link to this breh?:ohhh:

Here's an easy way to understand copyright laws...
Is the idea yours? Did you create it? Did you pay for the rights to the idea? If the answer is NO to any of those then you don't own it and you can be sued for using it.
Technically the coli could be sued by photographers who took the pictures of all our smilies since we profit from their use.

You're thinking of it wrong.

When Mr. Cartoon does tattoos for famous people... they're still his tattoos.

Doesn't matter how much they paid for his work, it's still his work.

that's like saying I bought a shirt but.... its not mine.

At best, these tattoo artist are advertising their work on ppl. That should be the end of it imo

you own THAT shirt... but you can't SELL that shirt or make copies of that shirt and sell them

so yea... go cut your tattoo off and sell it all you want... the moment a video game company COPIES that image and sells it as part of a game, you finished

Or, these athletes and entertainers should be getting free tats. Because what's to stop a tattoo artist from demanding that a concert venue or club where the artist is performing, from demanding payment? especially in terms of advertising and posters, etc. It becomes a slippery slope.

Because that artist at the concert isn't recreating the tattoo and selling it. 2k is going in and copying that image onto the player. A picture or poster isn't recreating that image on an artist. It's already there.

Then going forward, 2K just needs to find a lawyer and then create a similar tattoo image, but different enough to not get sued. Like how it's done in music.

Go pay for a Van Goh painting and try to sell copies of it.
Makes sense now right?
:what:

Edit: some of u trting to explain the current laws. I think those laws need to be re-wrote.

Do frats sue when those stamps/brandings are used?

What if I cut u across the face, leave a scar, and the scar is used in a gm. I can sue? That scar was my art.

Wait what? How can this be legitimate in common sense terms?

Does the papparazzi, or newspapers or other media have to pay when they photo people wearing a recognizable brand?
