You PlayStation cats are really setting yourselves up. The NEO is probably going to do 1440P and upscale to 4K. Is Sony prepared to take a massive loss per unit by putting what will likely need to be the equivalent to a GTX 1070 or RX 480 in there?

It's won't do 1440P because there is no native TV that does 1440P only gaming monitors. The best thing to do is upscale and it will look like shyt because it is not native.

It's not going to do 1440P.

Neo will do real 4K rendering using checkerboard rendering because it is most efficient.
Sony's been actually against 1440P rendering as per their slides. If they can make a convincing 4k image using this technique then they'll save resources for other things.

I suspect the Neo wiill use PS4 original APU + the new GPU using AMD's dual graphics technology which will provide the power behind Neo game modes.

Sony isn't going to waste time making devs do all this workk when your TV or w/e can simply "upscale" the game and look barely any different. I'm willing to bet people are going to eat crow to think all this will effectively result in "barely better" looking games.
