NBA's gotta do something about the SouthWest Division

No keep divisions to make scheduling easier,

it doesnt make scheduling easier and it is completely pointless in 2015.

there is no difference if you take out divisions or keep them in.

but do the seeds 1-16 regardless of division winners and conferences.

We coulda had something like this

1. Warriors vs 16 Boston = Warriors in 4
2. Atlanta vs 15 Bucks = Hawks in 4
3. Houston vs 14 OKC = Houston in 6
4. Cliipers vs 13 Pels = Clippers in 5
5. Memphis vs 12 Wizards = Memphis in 6
6. Spurs vs 11 Raptors = Spurs in 6
7. Cavs vs 10 Mavs = Cavs in 6
8. Blazers vs 9 Bulls = Bulls in 6

Much better matchups

this doesnt work because of the imbalance in schedules.

They have to make sure everyone plays each other an equal amount of times.

There's no way to ensure teams play eachother "an equal" amount of times with 30 teams. You would either need to cut teams (will never happen) or expand schedules (won't happen) to ensure you play the same team X amount of times.

3. You don't even really notice it.

Post don't make sense your comparing with in the division. What I'm saying is they play everyone in their division 4 times every year and than it gets random from there how is that not a disadvantage if you play in the Southwest division? You think it's fun knowing before the season even starts that your guaranteed San Antonio, Dallas, Memphis, Houston and New Orleans 4 times a year but you might only get the Lakers/Kings/Wolves only 3 times? If your one of those team that's 16 games(4 division opponents x 4 games) that you know at best you might go 9-7 or 10-6 on any given year no matter how good you are.

things are gonna go in back in cycles eventually.

They get 2 to 3 days off right now anyway. A charter flight from Boston to GS is what 6 hours? You only travel after game 2 and game 4. But its a sweep regardless.

Good points but I would still take my chances at possibly getting a extra couple of games with the likes of the Kings, Twolves, Lakers

This change. The west used to be trash while the east was stacked. Now look.

West has been the better conference for a while breh, not just recently. While the best team in the NBA may have been in the East, the west has been the harder conference overall for a couple of decades plus.

im not advocating for 1-16 seeding

Im cool with an Eastern/Western conference. I have no problem with that. I just want the top 8 teams in there using records as the determinant and not division titles that are meaningless.
