Pretty much setting up shop anywhere you want to without penalty
Example: Harbaugh having a camp in Alabama to get closer to recruits to expand the pipeline

You SEC/ACC/Big12/PAC12 dudes don't get it. You guys are acting as if Harbaugh is breaking all sorts of rules. Doing as he pleases, without repercussions. You guys are acting like we're the only ones that are able to run these camps.

Here's a newsflash. Your schools could to it too. (Apparently not the SEC because of their SELF inflicted 50 mile radius rule of running camps) It's not our fault your coaching staff is too fukking lazy to coach and recruit year round. That's another one of the big deals. Dudes like Saban have it so comfy, that they don't feel like they NEED to recruit year long, when in fact, aside from a few dead periods that you can't contact recruits, recruiting IS a year round thing.

Coaches bytching about these satellite camps are mad about more than just recruiting advantages. They just don't wanna work any harder than they have to. So when schools like Ohio State and Michigan come to your state, and show these kids that they TOO can get away from home, and get a good education and play big time football somewhere else, the local college coaches don't like it one bit.

Of course they don't care about he little Mac schools, and horizon league schools that run these camps. Because let's be honest, you telling me a school like Illinois state is gonna threaten to flip and/or sign with them as opposed to a school like UM or OSU? Of course not. That's why it was never a problem. Until now.

hilarious that people have their big conference blinders on and think shyt like this is for the good of the game, instead of focusing on how badly it fukks over some kids out there. maybe you couldnt get into ohio state, but kent state noticed you when kent was up at ohio states satellite camp and gave you a scholly. as of now, kent state wont know you exist

The Big Ten isn't concerned with players having options if it doesn't benefit the Big Ten.

Proposal to Lower Age Limit Divides College Hockey

March 22, 2016

College hockey programs are deeply divided over a proposed National Collegiate Athletic Association rule that would lower to 20 the maximum age of incoming freshman players, The New York Times reports. The average age of college hockey players has risen to 21 years, 9 months, as some of the less-visible colleges that play the sport have increasingly recruited players who have already spent a few years playing junior professional hockey, as currently allowed under NCAA rules. The rule change is being promoted by the Big Ten Conference, the Times reports, prompting the coach at College of the Holy Cross to say, “I think this is a reaction by schools that are used to winning …. They want to have their cake and eat it, too.”

Breh :camby: these recruits aren't dumb. And multiple SEC teams stay in the top 10 in recruiting every year. You're just mad :umad:
For a lot of recruits down south, proximity is important.
Now FOH with this bytching:stopitslime:

You sound like a dumbass. And you sound like you don't know the way this shyt works.

Guess who else is in the top 10 recruiting every year? OSU and Michigan. :stopitslime:

Do the satellite camps help with recruiting? Maybe. But not as much as you would think. Even the God of your conference Nick Saban said so.

The fact is, no satellite camps hurts a lot of these kids' chances at getting looked at by schools that would never be able to see them.

Instead of mid major kids getting decent offers from schools like Akron, and central Michigan ect, they might end up at schools like Mississippi valley community college or Tuscaloosa CC.

Think of the bigger picture. If you would've read my post instead of making an ass of yourself with this dumb ass reply, you'd understand.

Nothing was stopping your school from doing the very same thing in states like Florida, Texas, California and Ohio.

Breh you're looking dumb you're complaining about nothing. This is something you won't even be thinking about tomorrow. These satellite camps aren't doing that much good, I see how it can help with travel but :yeshrug:
it didn't matter to me if they kept doing it or not. Michigan and OSU will be just fine. This is really something smaller schools needed but it's too late now :yeshrug:

Exactly. Michigan will be fine either way, but for the inner city kids that can't afford to travel to meet coaches (outside of an official visit) .. This hurts them and their families a lot.
