I wish I could bet money had the roles been reversed and madden was $20 that year and 2k bought the license, yall would be on here praying and wishing for EA to get the license back.. Or maybe my copy of 2k5 was defective, cuz other than the presentation, the gameplay was not better than madden that year.

remember old football teams in madden!!!!! chicago 85.... they just changed the numbers but it was the same exact shyt.. old players sued and won... no more teams
now it's coming to ncaa.. older players are suing because of the OLD teams they tried to add
BUT the judge just said, because only in college, are they using number instead of names... that now CURRENT players can get in on the lawsuit... might get up to the billions
i say fukk EA cause they the number 1 gaming company in the world.. worth BILLIONS.. they couldn't pay these former players?? most are probably dead or never was stars anyway.. i'm sure they could have offered $1000 bucks and got 90% of them

If this goes down right, this could be the best thing that ever happened.
Two years ago I interviewed a EA developer for my site and he told me all about how restrictive the NCAA is/was.
There are a lot of really cool ideas that have been scrapped from the game at the last second by the NCAA.
A playoff option in Dynasty would have been in the game a looooooong time ago if EA had their way.
If they can convert the uniforms/schools/conferences, the NCAA's little logo won't mean much.
And truthfully, you could easily see a much better game esp now that next-gen has arrived.
I'm sorry, we've had a generation of heads who grew up with realism being a PREMIUM for why they play a certain sports game, particularly this one...not having player names and likenesses is one thing, but I highly, highly doubt people are gonna be cool playin' a game where the schools are named some bullshyt, man.....and I say that because I'm not sure they're gonna be able to get licensing contracts with EVERY school individually.
Mebbe it's just ME, but the realism factor is the only reason to even keep playing console sports games. SURELY that's the best thing about NBA2K13, how you could play the exact same seasonal games as were being played that day in the real league, in real life, with the exact same team circumstances applying (e.g., winning/losing streaks, injuries, etc.).

there's a reason there used to be player 99 for jordan who looked nothing like him... barry bonds has some weird looking dude with a different number.. even the throwback teams in 2k.. if it's not a real player.. it's some big generic white guy

i had this long drawn out reply.. how you couldn't technically PROVE it was jordan... and how jordan and nike were suing everyone who even tried to use his name... EA got away with it in live and never got sued... and definitely got away with it in madden with all the old teams....
then i saw this and i think the laws are now changing... this is from 2012 with madden and ex players suing
