how is a scholly considered payment for an athlete? You keep saying this b/c you heard Bomani Jones say it over and over, but lets be real here......scholarships are considered payments, and if not, do you condone paying students given schollys for academic purposes?
Also, how about this....if you're gona pay players, then take away their schollies, since according to you they aren't of any fair value???
how is a scholly considered payment for an athlete?
They earn their scholly and much more
Answer my questions tho....
and then answer these......
Do you think every player on the team who puts on the jersey deserves to be paid? How are you gonna differentiate who gets paid, how much? And again, what about the smaller D1 schools who DON'T pull in large amounts of revenue....the schools who can't even sell out half their stadium?
If a scholly is not payment, then take it away. Pay them "real money" like you suggest and out of that real money let them pay their tutition, food, etc. like everyone else.
You pay people with Money
These are not real issues that would arise from paying players
You have those issues currently and some of that is nonsense
Schools are not subsidizing shyt
These players earn that scholarship and much more
Everyone else in college sports has an organization of their own. There's no independent union or organization speaking for athletes. In 1980, we actually got an organization funded by the federal government. The organization, known as the center for athletes rights in education, died broke less than two years after it was formed. Since 2001, the collegiate athletes coalition, backed spiritually and financially by the united steelworkers union, has been demanding ahair at the ncaa bargaining table.
The question is, can the schools still sell jerseys individually w/o the NCAA logo?
The school doesn't have to pay players, they just shouldn't be allowed to restrict them from earning. Once they aren't doing some crazy shyt like gambling on games...let them boys cook.
