Got damn I forgot how rough the audience use to get down on Showtime At The Apollo.

Ne-Yo's In My Own Words is a great fukking album though.

... this is some vintage IN MY OWN WORDS Ne-yo soul shiit.


Good lawd, 75 minutes of pure, unadulterated R&B goodness.


There's a concept behind it too... the ways the tracks play together so cohesively.


The harmonies and lyrics are on point and something the game has been missing for a very hot minute.


Production itself is top notch... but its Mr. Smith's pen game/melodies/bridge game are what really steal the show.



Please peep if you haven't. I promise, if you're a fan of that mid early 2000's R&B... you won't be disappointed.
