They are not winning more than 25 games. Especially with Hoiberg as coach.
It's a technicality in the CBA. He could lose his bird rights if he got traded but it doesn't apply in Niko's case since he's been with the Bulls three years.
The Bulls plan is to trade him in the off-season if he has a good year and if he's as inconsistent as he's been, they just cut him loose.
This deal is great because it delayed making a choice on him this summer.
