All that changes If lebron leaves. If the guy is on the move, you get on it. Period.
We keep Jimmy, we will have one summer to build an entire team for the future with him. I don't want to bet on that and then by then, if we aren't huge winners in FA or trades, etc, then we are stuck with an expiring Jimmy who doesn't hold much trade value & the threat of him dipping

Your thinking is why the low ball package is going to be on its way.

I'm not the biggest fan of garpax, but I'm with them on this one. You all just want to trade to trade. Hell no. Make these teams ante up. If they cant, you have to have a back up plan. Kyrie is a good way to go. If kyrie is not there, clear the max space for 2 guys. You post as If the Bulls turned down the ultimate package when paxson has said himself those deals were never offered. So if you can't get the huge haul what do you do? Because if you trade for a mediocre package you are locking us into 10 years of hell.

My thinking, if the huge haul not there, start stock piling assets, create the major cap space build from there.

You see what the pacers are dealing with right now? That will be the bulls next summer if they don't trade jimmy.

Bulls fo and jimmy already have had a tenuous relationship from his 1st contract extension and his name been in trade rumors for the last year and before that in trade rumors years ago(butler for barnes proposal a few years ago). Then the story in the sun times today sayin 'the 3 alphas are played' jimmy and wade low key shytted on rondo which isn't a good look after they threw the youngins under the bus earlier in the season and rondo stood up for them especially with how bad they looked vs the celtics after rondo got injured.I don't see how anyone can't see this jimmy won't trust them and will bounce.

Ive said repeatedly I wouldnt take a low ball offer

Its pretty clear Jimmys value is high asf right now and several teams want him

I at no point have wanted to settle on a deal just to take a deal. It seems pretty clear we can get a strong offer right now. Honestly Thibs might be willing to do Dunn, Lavine & their 1st. Is that a deal you would take?

I think what fans need to realize is that we're not getting some type of luxury deal in exchange Butler. Does that mean we should trade him for crap? No, but that also doesn't mean that the Bulls should sit around in mediocrity for the rest of eternity. Bulls need to be looking for a top 5 pick and young player to get the process started. No one is going to be gifting us a whole starting 5 of draft picks or trading away their whole entire future for Butler.

I would take that minny deal

But if that kind of deal is not there, and jimmy is still here, what is your course?

I'm of the belief thibs won't offer that tho. The way rose was traded, the way Dwight just got traded, brook lopez trade, that is normally how trades go down. Imo once that talk is all over social media but that player is still here, it tells me that deal likely not going to happen. So now what do you do? Get so fixated with rebuilding that you get desperate and just take a deal?

I been saying this for months

Yet you have people believing boston was really going to part with both bkn picks and brown for jimmy :mjlol:

I actually don't think we getting a top 5 pick. Your more optimistic than I am on that. 7th lavine and dunn is a more realistic package.

I just said I wouldnt take a lowball offer :dahell:

Its hard to speak on this without knowing whats on the table but to play devils advocate, if there is not ONE deal I deem suitable, then of course there is nothing else you can do but prepare for next offseason. If there isnt a deal I like, then I go commit to Jimmy and let him know its on him to recruit big names here next season

but to note, I find it difficult to believe there isnt one solid offer from around the league right now

Disregarding the Cavs. I feel like the Bulls could pull something off as long as they're not asking for Booker cause instead of getting Kevin Love they get Jimmy Butler. :yeshrug:

I just don't see any scenario realistic that gets jimmy to cleveland.

I think if jimmy goes it's to minny. Just my opinion

Trade this dude, let him be great elsewhere... This team is flawed, just hit the reset button.

they could cut ties with Rondo, trade Lopez and sign Lowry?

Im not in love with it, but thats out there if you put the pieces together from today. Jimmy has been in Lowrys ear. Report comes out today Wade/Jimmy are 'over' the 3 alphas thing

:manny:

then you have max space once Wade expiries next season for someone else?
