Nah we'd have to move 16th, future 1st, valentine/zipser, portis and/or lopez

So that wouldnt be the roster, but regardless we would have had a solid squad and going forward the potential to add a 3rd all star
Cavs wouldn't go for that though. They've got him for 2 more years after this.

Ive seen worse returns for a star. It wouldve boiled down to leverage and kyrie couldve told other teams it would be a 2 year rental. Plus if he stayed in cleveland they wouldve had to pony up a supermax

Damage is done, dont get me wrong, but its just some more salt to rub into my wounds smh :francis:

around jun 19, people was talking about trading bulter to the cavs but kryie told jimmy to stay away from the cavs

Need A Legit 2nd Option? Holla at Us... 2017 Bulls Off-Season Thread

Cavs players now telling Jimmy Butler to stay away from sudden chaos

Bulls been knew before the bulter trade :russ:

All this was before the trade & the bulls got rid of jimmy without tellin him, thats why he was shocked & his manger went off:ohhh:

I'm pretty sure bulter & kyrie was working on somethin...

of course bulls knew

they basically weren't gonna be held hostage to Kyrie and Butler. Players running the team and forcing GMs hand, Garpax deaded that. It's pretty obvious, which is why they quickly got rid of butler for that suckers deal and included the 16th

Yea , at this point it's becoming more clear that this was not about not having assets, cap flexibility, starting over etc, this is about not being a fan of jimmy butler.

In the draft, your playing a game of chance with about half the league, and even if you land a top 3 pick you still don't guarantee a all star in the nba. What is proven, is stars win in the NBA. We could have been in the finals in a couple of years when lebron went west. Now we back to the drawing board, handing a chance to rebuild to the same front office that screwed the situation up in the 1st place. Then if we do get lucky and draft a all star, or lavine excels to a all star player, the same guys who put crap around rose and jimmy will likely put crap around the next guy too. This is pitiful. How the hell didn't we get in on getting jimmy and kyrie together?

Thats why its good to have players on yo team wit personal relationships wit all star players...:snoop:

nikka said jimmy & kyrie would've been another jimmy & rose...

Jimmy & Kyrie would've figured out a playing style that worked :yeshrug:

Plus its 2 superstars on yo team, they could've recruited another good player, assumable a functioning team, add in the fact that the east is cake walk, where boston & wizards is yo main comp from getting to the finals & lebron leaving the east:gucci:

And they probably fix the ecf games to go in our favor because where the most popular team in the east wit 2 superstars and watching the wizards in the finals won't make enough money :gucci:

We could have had Jimmy and kyrie on the same team and this FO has us in rebound mode instead

just another reason I Kant stomach where this organisation is headed :stopitslime:

Kyrie and Jimmy.. Is a difference dynamic to rose and Jimmy as well

Kyrie can hit that spot up shot.. Jumper consistently.. Where is both rose and Jimmy needed ball in they hands to create for most of the time in the lane

Have there been worse returns for star players that weren't off the court problems with at least two years on their deal?

And two years isn't really leverage. A team could easily top that offer with the hope that they could convince him to stay.

NO just gave up a rookie that was a top 6 pick and another first rounder for Boogie who will be a free agent next summer.

I think the only way we could've gotten Kyrie was waiting until he was a FA two years from now.

Bulls Q&A: Expectations for Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn, that billboard and more

Will the Taj Gibson-Doug McDermott trade end up being the one that finally gets Gar Forman fired? Cameron Payne is the only return left and he’s trash.
— John Messner, South Beloit, Ill.
Happy offseason vibe to you too. As inconsistently as McDermott played, he did one thing consistently well and that’s space the floor. Even if his shot wasn’t falling, defenses had to honor his presence. Payne, to this point, hasn’t demonstrated the ability to do one thing exceptionally well at the NBA level. As far as firings, nothing is happening this offseason. And the rebuild seems to give this management team — which ownership trusts — more time. But the trade at this point feels like a miss.

What is the interest league-wide in someone like Robin Lopez and what type of return could the Bulls get? Seems if they resign Nikola Mirotic and have Lauri Markkanen and Cristiano Felicio then Lopez is expendable, especially for a rebuilding team. — John Messner, South Beloit, Ill.
Typically, only one question allowed per customer. But since John is from South Beloit, Ill., and I used to cover high school sports for the Beloit Daily News with trips to his town, he gets a freebie. Lopez, to me, will serve as a symbol for the state of the rebuild. While I fully expect him to start the season and strongly fits management’s publicly stated claim to have some of the “right veterans” around, whether he’s on the team past the February trade deadline will be a sign. His moveable contract and solid, steady play make him an attractive piece for a team trying to win it all. But at what cost? If the Bulls can snag a future first-round pick for Lopez at any time, he should be moved.

Cam & Lopez will be here next season

I'm sure the cavs would of jumped all over a trade of portis, future 1sts,valentine and robin lopez :skip: especially to a team that plays in their division.

The bulls had no trade assets to offer for irving

Nah we'd have to move 16th, future 1st, valentine/zipser, portis and/or lopez

So that wouldnt be the roster, but regardless we would have had a solid squad and going forward the potential to add a 3rd all star

We could've had kyrie:russ:

#16, #38(picks), Wade or Lopez(vet starter), Zip, Zel, or Bobby(young players on a rookie contract)

Do to the fact that wade & LEGM are good friends & already won rings together, lebron would want him on the team.. Bulls had leverage on that angle

Jimmy, Kyrie, still got that '18 1st round pick(so we still in the Marvin Bagley iii & Michael Porter Jr contest) & bulls would've had money to sign another good fa:mjlol:

Bulls could be running the east & have a legit shot at a title but they didn't like jimmy :francis:

So yeah, whatever we would've offered wasn't gonna beat what they got from the Celtics, who they had apparently been talking to since the demand was made. Wade/#16/Denzel wasn't gonna get it done.

We would've spent 2 years hoping Kyrie would leave a good situation with the Celtics to come play with Jimmy.

Other than Wade's potential buyout, it's been super quiet. Niko still hasn't signed.
